We should always be striving to better ourselves, to learn new things, and have new experiences.
This is the essence of personal growth and self-improvement.
If you seek to challenge yourself and push yourself, you will live a fruitful and meaningful life.
If personal growth and self-improvement, are at the core of how you choose to live your life, then you will constantly be searching for useful strategies and tips to help develop your self esteem, and efficient ways to see maximum results.
In this post, I thought I would share with you some of my self-improvement tips, which have helped me grow recently in my life, and have a dramatic influence on my self esteem.
Keeping A Journal:
Normally I would be too lazy to keep something like a journal. I used to think it was a bit old school when it came to self-improvement.
But when I started taking my health and fitness seriously, I started keeping track of my exercise and diet. This was immensely useful.
A journal showed me my dominant thinking patterns, and if they were positive or negative. This brought those patterns into my awareness and allowed them to be resolved.
This process alone, removed all resistance to certain aspects of my reality, allowing for growth in my mind, and corresponding desires to be manifested.
The impact this had on my self esteem was huge.
Once again, this is something I have always shied away from.
Like most people, I didn’t have time for it or find any value in it.
But, life has a funny way of forcing you to do things. I went through a significant period of stress in my life a while back. I desperately needed to create a space of calm in my mind, to allow me to work with my thoughts.
So I took up meditation, purely as an exercise to help develop a space of awareness in my mind.
This allowed me to work with intense thoughts (both positive and negative).
When you develop a space of awareness in your mind, you can allow yourself to understand the thought patterns in your mind. This gives you the opportunity to remove limiting and negative thought patterns.
Meditation and developing this space of awareness is the most powerful tip I can give you.
The Expectation To Succeed:
All of the most successful people in life, all have a positive mindset. They all expect to win.
They may not even know how they are going to succeed, or what they have to do. But they still expect to win.
They know the path forward will present itself. They know that each step of the way, they have to do what is required.
If they reach a step where they encounter resistance, then they find a way to deal with that resistance, and keep moving forward.
It is OK to want to win. You are designed to desire things and be successful. Your mind is a creative force in this universe.
Writing Out A Plan:
I nearly left this one out.
To be perfectly honest, I don’t like to write down my goals specifically or write out a detailed plan.
I find that it is too rigid for me, and makes me closed minded.
But that is just me. If you find some benefit of writing down your goals, and planning each step of the way, then go for it.
But don’t fall into the trap of feeling like you have done something by spending the time planning everything out, then failing to take action according to your plan.
Also, keep an open mind, to how your goal is going to realize itself. It is often the way you least expect it, and not according to your plan.
Aim For Balance:
Each area of your life is interconnected.
Your health affects your relationships, finances, career and vice versa.
If you are out of shape and lack energy, this will have a flow-on effect in the rest of your life.
Aim for balance across all areas of your life. Deal with the most pressing issue first, and you will notice changes in other areas.
For example, if you are overweight and lack energy. Then deal with that first.
After a month of healthy eating and exercise, you will have new found energy, which will flow into the other areas of your life.
This will give you the motivation and strength to improve those areas as well.
These are the key self-improvement tips that have dramatically improved my life in the last 12months. My self esteem has sky rocketed as a result.
As always, work with what resonates with you, and not what someone else says you should do. When you can be openly be true to yourself, then you will have strong self esteem.
